B-IT

Business Improvement Techniques is a work-based competency qualification. The main objective is to improve business performance, with a central theme throughout of improving business activity by continuous improvement. This enables organisations to reduce their waste/costs, improve their productivity and ultimately increase their competitiveness.

City & Guilds B-IT NVQ Level 4

The 36 week programme is designed to turn individuals from "problem identifiers" into "problem solvers", with the ability to manage improvement teams across their areas of responsibility.

The fun and interactive course focuses on embedding and sustaining a Continuous Improvement culture.

Workshops, on the job coaching and assessing ensures that participants not only have the knowledge but are able to demonstrate their skills to a nationally agreed standard.

Individuals undertake to manage the improvement projects that look to improve COST, QUALITY, DELIVERY, HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING in their areas of work.

They use teamwork, problem solving techniques and 5s workplace organisation/visual management methodology to bring about measurable improvements for themselves and for their organisation.

At level 4 individuals are trained and coached in Leadership and Management skills and other specialist improvement techniques.

Qualification Structure

Candidates must achieve all seven mandatory units
One optional unit from Group B(2)
Five optional units from B(3) and C - At least two of these five optional units must be selected from Group B(3).
